Being fortunate enough to live in this area of Virginia, we have so many wonderful things available to us. If you have lived here long enough you will remember that one of the first restaurants to open in Ashburn was Mediterranean Breeze Restaurant. Great food. Great atmosphere. I am sure you remember the long lines to get in, kids running everywhere, and the really friendly owners walking around to be sure everyone is taken care of. It is still my favorite Greek restaurant. If you have not been there in a while please go by for lunch or dinner and say hello to the owner/chef Terry Kasotakis. It’s an oldie but still a very good goodie. 😋🥙

This is my favorite restaurant in Ashburn, but you will feel like you have been to Greece. Beautiful murals on the walls and plenty of windows and even outside seating. Hopefully we can soon dine on location! The authentic Greek food is delicious and plentiful. I took my Mom here for her 90th birthday and seeing how frail Mom was, the waitress helped me walk her out to my car! Very kind.

Today the Ashburn Volunteer Fire Rescue Department - AVFRD is hosting Honor Flight - Top of Virginia Mission #9 . The Honor Flight Network transports our veteran heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – World War II survivors, along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill. The flight will include veterans from WWII, Korea and Vietnam who are local to our area.

For those who wish to welcome the flight back from their day in DC, please feel free to line their return route from the Claiborne exit of the Toll Road, to Gloucester Parkway, to Ashburn Road, ending at Ashburn Volunteer Fire Rescue Department - AVFRD by 4:45pm. Flag waving and cheering highly is encouraged!

If you are welcoming the flight back, please do not park at the fire station to leave room for buses and family parking. Please also do not park in the retail plaza across the street ( Mediterranean Breeze Restaurant) so the space is available for their customers.
